Table plan options

There are several different table layouts that can be accommodated on the John Rennie where we can seat between 20 to 56 guests.
We have dark oak coloured table tops that can seat one guest with soft leather dining chairs on each side for total comfort.
When two tables are placed together we can seat two - three guests each side.
Therefore we can mix and match the table seating depending on numbers on each charter.

Classroom style
For example, it is easy to have no tables and a classroom seating arrangement ideal for a launch, conference, corporate event or a meeting.

Boardroom style
You can also have a central table down the length of the boat with double width tables and chairs all round.
This format seats between 20 - 28 people and gives you a large central tabled area for flower decorations etc. This is a boardroom style which is ideal for meetings, corporate events, corporate lunches and dinner as well as small weddings, parties and intimate dining. Please note whilst this style is elegant, your seated guest will easily interact with their guest on either side of them. It is not so easy to talk to their opposite seated guests particularly when their is music. The banquet style may suit an intimate dinner better. This is not a problem if only one guest is speaking such as corporate launch / board meeting.

Banquet style
This is one long single table width down the length of the boat with chairs on either side. You can also sit a guest at both ends of the table like the kings and queens of royalty. This is ideal for hosting an intimate conversational dining party. Many charter trips celebrating anniversaries, birthdays, private dining parties, small weddings and hen parties adopt this style. We have had two central tables along the length of the boat but this is a much tighter configuration which you must take into account regarding your guests comfort and accessibility.

Restaurant style
As the guest numbers rise, it becomes easier to set the tables either side along the length of the boat with a central walkway down the middle kept free.
Later in a trip, some tables can be removed with chairs to create a larger dance area should it be required.
We regularly have three sets, four sets and five sets of tables either side of the boat with four to six chairs on each table set.
For Valentine charter trips we have spread the tables as singles for two person dining. Restaurant style is ideal for larger charter trips of between 30 -56 guests.

School Disco style
This is when we lay four to six tables at the bar end on either side allowing tabled seating for 16 - 30 people. All other tables are removed towards the bow end where we place more seats against the walls on both sides allowing more guests to sit comfortably. This larger area can be used for standing upon arrival or as a dance area after the food has been served. This arrangement is very popular for hen parties, larger parties or just when organisers want a larger space available.

Bespoke style
Lastly, some charter trips like to vary their table and seat plan to allow a high table for their family / special guests etc or some tables with more guests than others. Some of these layouts are possible but are usually easier with smaller numbers as they take up more space and can affect the access around the tables. You are welcome to suggest your own ideas and we will endeavour to accommodate them as best as possible but do bear in mind not all formats are possible.
