Our Boats

We have six boats available for half day or full day hire in 2012.

All the boats can carry up to six people whilst others can carry up to ten people.
The boats are available all year round, seven days a week and are self drive. A skipper can be hired at extra cost should you not want to steer the boat yourselves.

Our boats are essentially all self drive narrowboats but some have different internal configurations, passenger capacity and boat length.
For this reason we have classed the boats 'AA' - Overnight, 'A' - PREMIER, 'B' - SUPER & 'C' - FUN class.

'AA' - OVERNIGHT CLASS - " LADY VICTORIA " & " GOLDEN EAGLE "

The Lady Victoria is our only day boat that is designed to sleep four people for one, two or three nights. It is very popular with hirers who would like to spend a longer day on the canal, ideal for a weekend or just a couple of days. It can only sleep four but as a dayboat it can easily take up to ten passengers.
As a dayboat you will find a beautifully fitted out oak wood interior, flushing toilets, a hot/cold shower, a kitchenette with oven, hob, fridge, utensils and a dinette to seat four. This table turns into a double bed when required.
The rear of the boat has a cruiser stern which is larger than more traditional boats allowing more open space. Access on and off the boat is easier and there is space for five crew members as well as the steerer.

Our 38ft narrow boat is purpose built, has recently been completely refurbished and designed with your comfort and safety in mind. The front deck has bench seats for warm days, central heating for those cooler ones as well as hot and cold running water and a fresh water flushing toilet.

There is a fridge, four ring hob and microwave so if you fancy cooking there are utensils & crockery (plates, bowls, mugs and glasses). Don’t worry about steering, it's easy; you will be given full instruction and handling tuition on arrival. The boat hire includes diesel, gas and water. If you are cruising overnight, there are towels, sheets, duvets & pillows provided.

You are welcome to bring your own food and drink or you can stop off at the various pubs, cafes, tearooms and restaurants you'll find along the canal towpath. Alternatively, you can order a luxury picnic hamper from our base with Gourmet Delicious.

Our start time for non dayboat hire ( overnight etc ) starts at 11.00 a.m. to allow time for arrival & instruction. ( Other times can be made later by prior arrangement )

Golden Eagle is our 58ft long narrowboat that sleeps two in luxurious comfort. It boasts a semi traditional stern, multi fuel stove, full size fridge/freezer, microwave, two free standing chairs, fixed double bed with interior sprung, airing cupboard, DVD player and Radio/CD player.

The boat is hired out in increments of four days from either Monday to Friday or Friday to Monday or more.

During off peak season the boat is available for overnight, one day, two days or more etc.
Please note, Golden Eagle is not available as a dayboat.

Both these boats are available between October to April for overnight accommodation as an alternative to the standard stay in a local hotel or B & B.

'A' - PREMIER CLASS - " LOUISA MARY " & " MARGARET ROSA "

We have two 38ft narrow boats that are available for half day or full day hire. These boats are only one year old and are absolutely gorgeous. They have been built and designed with your comfort and safety in mind and these boats can take up to ten people on each boat. You'll find the boats are fully equipped with kitchen, lounge and toilets. On the front deck there are bench seats for warm days, central heating inside for the colder ones, hot and cold running water and a fresh water flushing toilet.

Inside there's a kitchen to entertain from. It has a fridge, four ring hob and if you fancy cooking, utensils, crockery (plates, bowls, mugs and glasses).
Don’t worry about steering it's easy; you will be given full instruction and handling tuition on arrival.
All the boat hires include diesel, gas and water.

'B' - SUPER CLASS - " KENNET " & " PAMELA "

We have two 35ft narrowboats that are available for half day or full day hire. These have been purpose built and designed with your comfort and safety in mind. These boats can take up to ten people on each boat. You'll find the boats are fully equipped with kitchen, lounge and toilets. On the front deck there are bench seats for warm days, central heating inside for the colder ones, hot and cold running water and a fresh water flushing toilet.

Inside there's a kitchen to entertain from. It has a fridge, four ring hob and if you fancy cooking, utensils, crockery (plates, bowls, mugs and glasses).

AT 28ft , this is the smallest in our fleet of narrow boats that is available for half day or full day hire. This small boat is ideal for a first time to gently introduce you to the pleasures of canal boating. The boat has been built and designed with your comfort and safety in mind. This boat can only take up to six people. You'll find the boat is fully equipped with a kitchen, lounge and toilet.
Inside there's a kitchen to entertain from. It has a fridge, four ring hob and if you fancy cooking utensils, crockery (plates, bowls, mugs and glasses).
