• Murder Mystery Cruises – a team of actors will join your party, a murder will be staged and it’s up to you to find the guilty party before the cruise ends – cost from £250

• Magicians – close up or comic you’ll be amazed by our floating prestidigitators. Cost between £100 and £250.00;

• Horse Racing - Large screen projection with 8 pre recorded races per evening. Comes complete with compere tote seller and PA system. Fun money, race cards and betting slips included. Maximum 35 people, cost from £350.00.

• Wacky Races – for the completely insane! – “live races” on a six lane course with a wind up fluffy pig on each and a volunteer jockey from the audience to set it off. Includes a compere, tote seller and PA system. Maximum 35 people – cost from £350.00.

• Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? - Blatantly Tarrant this quiz will take the contestant through the trauma of the TV programme of the same name all in the name of fun – unless that is you’d like to supply the million! Can be played by individuals or as a team – the perfect corporate entertainment! Maximum 35 people, from £350.00

• The Stock Exchange Game - Betting in pin-stripes. Trade shares between yourselves or through our brokers. This is a fast moving game with news, TV and radio inputs which all affect the share price. Timing is the key and be wary of loose gossip. Maximum 35 people Cost from £1,000

• Acoustic Bands - we have a wide selection of one to four piece bands available, just let us know your preference and we will organise it for you. Cost from £185.00

• There is also a CD system on board for which you are very welcome to bring your own CD’s or we can provide background music for you.

The John Rennie is available all year round for private charter. Our on board facilities are perfect for business meetings, small conferences or entertaining up to 50 guests. The large centrally heated saloon is glass sided so that you can enjoy the panoramic views of Bath and the beautiful Avon Valley.

All food is freshly prepared in our fully equipped galley on board – no outside caterers. Drinks are available from the bar or our extensive wine list. Cruises start just a 10-min walk from the Bath City centre.

Project and Study Work
All trips booked on “The John Rennie” include a project pack specially prepared for KS2 students (7 - 11 years). There is also a teacher’s pack, which is designed for teachers to photocopy.
A trip on the canal offers almost unlimited potential for project work on the history of the canal, Bath’s local history, flora and fauna as well as the wildlife. The trip will pass through the newly re-engineered section of the canal and will present opportunities to contrast modern practices with the technology of 200 years ago.

The John Rennie offers a unique and stylish venue in which to celebrate your own special day. Everyone would like something different, so we tailor the cruise to suit your own requirements. We invite you therefore to contact us for an appointment to view “The John Rennie” and we will make every effort to bring a bit of magic to your special day.

The John Rennie will be available to you for the entire day, and can also be hired for the previous evening if you need more time to set up. All manners of entertainment are welcome and we can also arrange these for you at extra cost. We regret that the boat is unable to accommodate disco style entertainments.

Our brochure and menus are enclosed, please study them, they will enable you to price the hire of the "John Rennie" for whatever length of cruise you require, this includes full crew, waiting staff etc. Weekday wedding reception charters, are charged at evening prices, due to the large amount of preparation time required. All Saturday or Sunday charters are priced as per the brochure charter fees.

All wedding receptions are very personal affairs; we need to know about menu details, serviette colours, maybe you will need to order wine for table or toasts.
