The “John Rennie” is our prestigious floating restaurant offering you and your guests a unique cruising experience along the canal in edwardian elegance with a contemporary feel whilst enjoying high class gourmet cuisine and the beautiful countryside for up to 56 guests. At your service is a personally crewed boat that navigates along the stunning Kennet & Avon canal with its diversity of historical, cultured and picturesque scenery. For the more adventurous, we have the largest dayboat fleet on the Kennet & Avon Canal so if you want to explore the historic canal from Bath to Bradford on Avon we have a choice of seven mini narrowboats available for half day, full day or overnight / weekend hire.
If a dayboat trip whets your appetite for more or just a longer holiday experience, then why not book an Anglowelsh narrowboat holiday. We currently have a fleet of eight fully fitted out narrowboats of different sizes to suit all your needs.

If the gentle amble of the canal boats isn’t for you then why not hire one of our exclusive Giant mountain bikes. We have a range of mens, ladies and childrens bikes with trailers, add ons etc for half day or full day hire. On two wheels, the world is your oyster with the canal towpath, locks, riverside and Bristol cycle way to your North, next year there will be the two tunnels through to Midford, the historic city of Bath with its streets and parks or the towpath to the south where you can cycle towards Bradford on Avon and if you wish to stop and rest , then why not at the Somerset Coal Canal visitor centre where our restaurant “ The Angelfish “ will be delighted to welcome you.

As Bath’s only boatyard, we offer a range of other services from experienced engineering,oil changes, engine services, boat repairs, a chandlery, a shop that sells bottled gas, diesel, water, pump outs, coal and other ancillaries to all boat owners and the public.
Soon to open at Easter will be our revamped reception which will include ‘The MadHatter “ bistro. Where else could you go in Bath to watch all the wharf activities whilst enjoying a cappucino, home made cakes, cream teas, ice creams and light snacks.

Worth mentioning is The Angelfish Restaurant. Situated at the Canal Visitor Centre next to the Somerset Coal Canal just below Brassknocker Hill , it can easily be found off the Kennet & Avon canal at Dundas or next to the A36 where you turn off to Bradford on Avon on the B3109. Built & created 14 years ago, we have been cooking and serving our brand of homemade food, scrumptious cakes, cool drinks, ice creams, delicious meals etc to many thousands of satisfied customers. There’s more here to discover as there is a small museum explaining about the Somerset Coal Canal and you can hire electric boats, canoes & bikes from Bath & Dundas Canal Co.

Gourmet Delicious is our outside catering company that operates from our base at the Angelfish offering a full catering service to weddings, banquets, parties offsite etc. We also carry out all the bespoke gourmet catering for the John Rennie restaurant boat and the “ Jubilee “ Kennet and Avon Canal trust boat moored in front of the Angelfish Restaurant.
