Do I need any experience?
No just common sense. Our experienced engineers will give full training before
you leave our yard.
Can we take the Day boat onto the River Avon?
No - for safety reasons we do not let any Day boat use locks.
Is it safe for children?
Absolutely. All we ask is that a parental eye is kept on children when they are
on board and that they are not allowed to attempt to operate the swing bridges
on their own. We have buoyancy aids available for both children and adults,
please let us know your requirements when booking.
Are there any extras?
The boat hire charge for Avon includes VAT at 17.5%, all fuel and gas. A damage
deposit of £50 is also required.
Do I need Insurance?
Kennet and Avon are covered by third party insurance cover to a maximum of
£2million.
Can I park my Car?
We do have a small number of secure car parking spaces but do ask you to travel
in as few cars as possible.
How do I know where we are?
There is a wide range of canal guides available. We recommend the
Nicholson's
guide which gives comprehensive information about the canal itself as well as
the towns and villages along its route.
